Jason leads the advisory department at Wilon, overseeing client relationship management across the organization. As an advisor, Jason’s goal is to apply his detail-oriented personality to help develop and implement personalized financial plans. He has a unique ability to bring all of the pieces of a client’s financial world together and bring clarity to even the most complicated financial planning concepts.
A native of northwest Iowa, Jason grew up respecting the value of hard work. Over the years, he saw his family’s business grow and flourish by doing right by people. Today, he takes the same approach, whether it be assisting families with multi-generational estate planning or helping clients enter the next phase of their life after a transition. Jason strives to always do what’s best for each individual client and strongly believes that a thorough understanding of a client’s entire financial picture and their unique goals must be in place before effective financial advice can be given.
Jason realized a career in finance was his only choice from the first time he came upon a compound interest chart. His love for finance continued to grow as he attended the University of Iowa, where he received his bachelor’s degree in finance. After graduation, Jason began his work in the securities industry, as a Financial Advisor for Waddell & Reed, and realized that his true passion was helping individuals and families grow, protect and transition their wealth through the financial planning process. Over the course of his career, he has built a myraid of loyal client relationships and ultimately decided to use his depth of planning wisdom and industry expertise to co-found Wilon Wealth Management in 2007.
When he’s not working with clients, Jason enjoys golfing, hunting and spending time with his family. He and his wife Brittney live in West Des Moines with their son, Briggs, and their dog, Murphy. Brittney is a second grade teacher and also a native of northwest Iowa. Jason is also active outside of Wilon in the business community, serving as a member of multiple profit and not-for-profit boards.
